CountMyCode Pro is built with a privacy-first philosophy. Unlike traditional code analysis tools, our application runs entirely in your browser. Your source code, file contents, and analysis results never leave your device.

This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect (and what we don't), how the application works, and your rights regarding your information.

We do not collect, store, or transmit your source code. All file analysis — including line counting, language detection, complexity analysis, and duplicate detection — happens locally in your browser using Web Workers.

When you open a project folder or upload a ZIP file, the files are read directly by your browser. No file contents are ever uploaded to any server. There is no backend, no database, and no cloud storage involved in the analysis process.

The following data is never collected, transmitted, or stored on our servers:

• Source code or file contents
• File names or directory structures
• Analysis results or metrics
• Project metadata
• IP addresses (we have no server to log them)
• Browser fingerprints
• Usage analytics or telemetry

CountMyCode Pro uses your browser's localStorage API to store the following preferences on your device:

• Theme preference (light/dark/system)
• Worker thread count setting
• Custom ignore patterns
• Maximum file size setting
• Feature toggles (duplicate detection, complexity analysis)

This data is stored only in your browser and is never transmitted anywhere. You can clear this data at any time by clearing your browser's local storage or using the "Reset to Defaults" button in Settings.

CountMyCode Pro does not use cookies for tracking, advertising, or analytics. The application functions entirely without cookies. See our Cookie Policy for more details.

Our marketing website (this site) may use the following third-party services:

• Google Fonts — for typography (fonts are loaded from Google's CDN)
• Vercel — for website hosting (standard server logs only)

The CountMyCode Pro application itself (at /app) does not use any third-party services. Once loaded, it runs completely offline.

The CountMyCode Pro app does not use any analytics. No Google Analytics, no Mixpanel, no Hotjar, no Sentry — nothing. We cannot track how you use the app because we have no backend to receive the data.

Our marketing website may use privacy-respecting analytics (like Plausible or Fathom) that do not use cookies and do not collect personal information.

Since no data leaves your device, the security of your code is entirely under your control. There is no server to hack, no database to breach, and no API to exploit. Your code is as secure as your own computer.

Under GDPR (EU), CCPA (California), and other privacy regulations, you have the right to:

• Know what data is collected about you (answer: none, from the app)
• Request deletion of your data (clear localStorage in your browser)
• Opt out of data collection (the app collects nothing to opt out of)
• Access your data (it's all in your browser's localStorage)

CountMyCode Pro is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children. Since we don't collect data from anyone, this is inherently satisfied.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Since we don't collect data, changes to this policy will typically reflect clarifications or legal compliance updates.
